2020 Colors of the Year
We’re quickly nearing 2020 and that means paint companies are announcing their choices for color of the year. If you think about it, the colors chosen at the start of a new decade could define (think 80’s neon colors) how people look back on the 20’s.
As a professional painting company, we can’t think of a better way to head into the next decade than with a fresh coat of paint. If you’re thinking the same and don’t know what color to use, here are a few of the colors that paint companies have chosen as their colorful entry into the new decade.
Sherwin-Williams – 2020 Color of the Year – Naval
Better Homes & Gardens shared a study by the University of Sussex which concluded that navy blue is the most relaxing color. It looks like Sherwin-Williams agrees. Their choice of Naval (SW 6244) creates a calm and grounding environment. According to the company it’s an easy way to add sophistication to your space no matter if your home is traditional, contemporary or modern. You can see complimentary colors for Naval and design ideas on the Sherwin-Williams website.
PPG – 2020 Color of the Year – Chinese Porcelain
PPG is also going with a calming blue with their selection for color of the year, Chinese Porcelain (PPG1160-6). The world is a chaotic place and according to PPG, this color will impart slowness and realness into your life by bringing you closer to the natural elements like the sea and sky. You can add serenity to any space, and see suggestions on how to use this color to do it on the PPG website.
Benjamin Moore – 2020 Color of the Year – First Light
Benjamin Moore is hoping that you’re tired of white, grey and beige and has selected an alternative: First Light (2102-70.) It’s a soft, rosy color that brings optimism and energy into any room. According to the company, it reflects a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life like community, comfort and security. The Benjamin Moore website offers some great colors to compliment First Light on their website.
